Lesley graduated from Glasgow University in 1989 and worked as a solicitor in private practice in Glasgow before moving to the public sector by taking up a post as a solicitor for the then Comhairle nan Eilean in 1993.

Since her retirement in 2018, Lesley has become a volunteer with Clydesdale Foodbank and a legal services charity which represents people who may otherwise not obtain access to legal advice, reflecting her concern for the most vulnerable in society.  In her role as carer for her father, she has gained first-hand experience of the challenges and opportunities of health and social care integration.

Katharina is currently NHS Lanarkshire Board Chair, Chair of Children’s Hearings Scotland and was a Non-Executive Director of NHS Lothian.

Katharina is also a Board Member of the Scottish Police Authority, where she chairs the Complaints and Conduct Committee. She brings deep expertise in governance, audit, risk management and financial oversight, underpinned by a senior executive career in financial services and professional advisory roles.

She also has a strong understanding of Scotland’s health and social care system and is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, accountability and public value.

Louise has worked for 30 years in the public sector, 25 in a senior position, holding roles within education, social work and health and social care and is currently the Chief Executive of NHS Lanarkshire. She was made a Member of the British Empire (MBE) for Services to Local Government and the community of Inverclyde in the King’s New Year’s Honours List in December 2023.

Prior to starting her previous post as Chief Executive of Inverclyde Council in September 2021, Louise was Chief Officer for Inverclyde Integration Joint Board (IJB) and Corporate Director of Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) at Inverclyde Council from May 2017.

Previously, she was Head of Children and Families and Justice and Chief Social Work Officer at Argyll and Bute Council from 2015, starting at that council in 2012 as Head of Children’s Services.

Fiona McEwan, is currently the Director of Finance for NHS Lanarkshire and was previously Deputy Director of Finance – Financial Planning and Performance at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, is a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in financial leadership across the NHS and public sector.

Fiona has previously worked as the Director of Finance for Ardgowan Hospice and has a wide range of charity experience. She has also been treasurer for several small local charities.

Originally from Chennai, India, Josephine began her career in the UK in 1995 in the specialty of obstetrics & gynaecology before moving to pursue her ambition to work in public health.

She has a strong association with NHS Lanarkshire, having joined in 1999 to train in public health medicine. Following a period as a consultant with NHS Ayrshire & Arran, Josephine returned to Lanarkshire in 2009 and has worked with the health board as a consultant in public health medicine since then and appointed to the substantive Director of Public Health and Health Policy role in December 2021 with NHS Lanarkshire.

Josephine is NHS Lanarkshire’s Caldicott Guardian, responsible for protecting patient identifiable information. The Caldicott Guardian ensures patient privacy is protected.

Dr. Daniel Saunders is currently the Medical Director at NHS Lanarkshire. Dan’s clinical background is as a clinical oncologist, completing his training in Leeds. He joins us from The Northern Care Alliance in Manchester but began his consultant career at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust where he was also clinical director, before moving to The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. There he supported the establishment of the NHS’ first high energy proton beam therapy service and also became Divisional Medical Director in Europe’s largest dedicated specialist cancer hospital.

Dan has formerly been a Trustee (and Treasurer) of the Childrens’ Cancer and Leukaemia Group for six years and is a member of the College Council at the Royal College of Radiologists.

Trudi has been a registered general nurse for over 30 years and has extensive experience in nursing and healthcare leadership. Throughout a career spanning clinical, operational, and executive roles, Trudi has developed significant expertise in service improvement, workforce development, and clinical governance.

Trudi was involved in supported the establishment of veterans charity Who Dares Cares in 2016 and volunteered with them for three years. She was a trustee at Ardgowan hospice for two and a half years.

Trudi provides strategic leadership for Nursing, Midwifery, and Allied Health Professionals, with a focus on quality, patient safety, and professional practice across the organisation. As a member of the Corporate Affairs leadership team, Trudi plays a key role in shaping healthcare strategy, strengthening professional standards, and supporting innovation across services.

Committed to delivering safe, effective, person-centred care, Trudi champions a culture of compassionate leadership, continuous improvement, and excellence for patients, staff, and communities across Lanarkshire.

Siobhan White is currently a Non-Executive Director at NHS Lanarkshire. Siobhan is Head of Faculty Operations for the Faculty of Health, Education and Social Care at the University of the West of Scotland, where she was previously Associate Dean Learning & Teaching. She previously held posts as an Assistant Head for Learning, Teaching & Quality and Senior Lecturer at Glasgow Caledonian University and has teaching interests and expertise in a variety of under-graduate, post-graduate and professional programmes.

She specialises in the subject areas of public sector accounting and internal/external auditing, and public sector financial management, having previous work experience as a government external auditor. She is also actively involved in researching all of the above topics and has presented and published a range of papers in these areas, both in the UK and overseas.

Siobhan is also a Chartered Public Finance Accountant, a previous Non-Executive Board Member for the Scottish Housing Regulator and Chair of their Audit & Risk Assurance Committee, a previous Non-Executive Director of West of Scotland Housing Association/Chair of their Audit Committee, the previous Chair of the Audit & Governance Panel at South Ayrshire Council, and a past national examiner for CIPFA/ACCA.

Siobhan is currently an Independent Member of Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body Advisory Audit Board, also providing audit services to the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman, Commissioner for Ethical Standards in Public Life in Scotland, and the Scottish Human Rights Commission.

Siobhan brings her knowledge and experience of governance, risk, public finance and audit to the Charity.

James Muir is a Chartered Accountant and experienced business leader with over 30 years’ experience in financial, operational, and strategic roles across a range of sectors including utilities, financial and outsourcing services. He is currently a Non- Executive Director at NHS Lanarkshire.

James is currently the Chief Commercial Officer at V. Group, an industry leading provider of vessel management and marine services.  He previously held senior roles within the V. Group as Commercial Director, Business Development Director and Operations Director as well as accounting and finance roles in private and public sector organisations.

James also holds charity Trustee roles at Stella Maris and the Scottish Shipping Benevolent Association.

Donald Reid DipBS FRICS MBA graduated from the Glasgow College of Building and Printing with a Diploma in Building Surveying and qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 1988; subsequently being elected as a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1995.

With over 35 years post qualified experience he has wide ranging capital project experience and has provided project management, development monitoring and building surveying services to banks and institutional property funds; commercial property investors; landlords and tenants; owner-occupiers; health trusts and local authorities. Donald is also a Non- Executive Director at NHS Lanarkshire

Prior to joining with a former colleague to establish their own project management and building consultancy company in 2000, Donald spent over 10 years in charge of the building consultancy operations of local independent and international property consultancy firms. He has particular expertise in the healthcare sector and in strategic business planning and reorganisation management for large technology organisations.

Sylvia has been employed with NHS Lanarkshire since 2000 as a Specialist Biomedical Scientist within Pathology at Law Hospital, University Hospital Wishaw and University Hospital Monklands.

Sylvia has been a Staff Side/Partnership Representative for 10 years and has been involved in partnership working at local, regional and national level such as the Scottish Terms and Conditions Committee and Scottish Partnership Forum.  She has been dedicated to the Trade Union Movement for many years and has served as the Unite NHS Lanarkshire Health Branch Chair as well as a National Executive Council Member of Unite the Union.

Sylvia is delighted to have been elected as NHS Lanarkshire’s Employee Director and Chair of Staff Side and she will work hard with our sister trade unions and professional organisations to serve our members, patients and staff across the Organisation, committed to partnership working, fairness and equality.

Phillip Couser MBE has worked at senior levels in the NHS in Scotland since 2013.

He was appointed as the Director of Data Driven Innovation in Public Health Scotland (PHS) on its formation in 2020; before retiring from this post in July 2021, he led PHS’s initial data and digital contribution to the pandemic response.

Prior to PHS, Phillip was Director for Public Health and Intelligence in NHS National Services Scotland, leading both Information Services Division and Health Protection Scotland.

From both these roles he brings a strong interest in public health and a passion for data driven and digitally enabled transformation. Philip is currently a Non-Executive Director at NHS Lanarkshire.

Phillip’s NHS career started in 2008 in the Northeast of England leading planning for NHS North of Tyne, a health economy with many similarities to Lanarkshire. From 2011 until moving back to Scotland in 2013, he managed a clinical directorate in Guy’s and St Thomas’ in London.

Prior to 2008, Phillip had an Army career, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. Highlights included command of the Scottish Transport Regiment and the award of an MBE for leadership in national logistic planning for operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Colin Lee has been the Chief Executive of CEMVO Scotland since 2003 which is one of the leading national race equality organisations in Scotland and strategic partner of the Scottish Government. He brings to Lanarkshire Health Charity a wealth of experience and expertise in race and intersectional equalities.

More broadly, Colin has worked within the Third Sector for over 35 years in areas that include mental health, welfare and debt advice, social housing performance standards and employment. This has provided him with wide knowledge and experience in various fields and in project and organisational management.  Colin is also a Non-Executive Director of NHS Lanarkshire.

Colin has served on numerous Scottish Government Ministerial Advisory Groups such as Hate Crime and Fair Work. He was previously the Chair of the Scottish Court & Tribunal Service Equalities Advisory Group and was appointed the sole adviser to the Scottish Parliament Equalities, Human Rights & Justice Committee to advise on the scrutiny the Scottish Government 2012-13 draft budget from a race / equality perspective.

Colin currently serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park Authority.

Michael Joseph Coyle has been elected to North Lanarkshire Council since 2007. All through his previous working life he has been involved in the trade union movement.

He is married with two daughters.

Michael’s appointment to the NHS Lanarkshire Health Board and Lanarkshire Health Charity is a new challenge in which he hopes to serve the board and the Charity well.

Councillor Eileen Logan first elected 1980, currently Councillor for Clydesdale West, South Lanarkshire Council.

Eileen has all round experience in all committees of the Council, and has many outside interests which give her a broad spectrum on life.

Eileen looks forward to this new chapter in my ever-evolving career as she is appointed as a board member to NHS Lanarkshire and Lanarkshire Health Charity.

Dr Jane Duffty is a Non- Executive Director at NHS Lanarkshire and she is also one of the Intensive Care Medicine Anaesthetists working in NHS Lanarkshire.

Dr Duffty started working in University Hospital Hairmyres in 2011 and over the last 13 years has developed an interest in education, team working, patient safety and staff wellbeing. Dr Duffty’s working knowledge of NHS Lanarkshire will compliment her areas of interest to help support NHS Lanarkshire deliver ‘Our Health Together- Living Our Best Lives in Lanarkshire’.

This year, Dr Duffty took up the role of President of The Glasgow and West of Scotland Society of Anaesthetists. This reflects the high regard Dr Duffty is held in by her colleagues, both within NHS Lanarkshire and the wider West of Scotland.

Scott Haldane is currently a Non-Executive Director at NHS Lanarkshire and Lanarkshire Health Charity. Scott is a Chartered Accountant by Profession, Scott has extensive experience as a Director of Finance in the NHS both North and South of the Border. Scott was also the Interim Chief Executive at the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) prior to his retirement in March 2025, having previously been the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) at CPFT from 2015. He also held office as a Trustee of CPFT’s Charity ‘Head to Toe’ during his tenure there. Prior to joining CPFT, he was CFO at Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust.

Prior to taking up these roles down South, Scott was the Strategy and Business Development Director (Scotland) for ATOS IT Services (UK) Ltd and, before that, was the Director of Finance and Deputy Chief Executive at NHS National Services Scotland (now part of Public Services Delivery Scotland) . Scott was elected as Chairman of the Healthcare Financial Management Association in 2005, a body representing the NHS Finance community across the UK, and was recognised as Public Sector Finance Director of the Year in 2006.

A Lanarkshire resident, Scott has also been involved with a number of Boards in a Non-Executive capacity, including currently as a Lay Governor of Glasgow Caledonian University. Prior to this, Scott served for 12 years as a Trustee (latterly as Chair) on the Board of Edinburgh Leisure, a Registered Charity and ‘arm’s length body’ of the City of Edinburgh Council responsible for the management and running of the City’s Leisure and Sports estate. He also served as a lay member of the Court at the University of Stirling for 9 years, and was a Trustee of a National Charity, Ambient Care (formerly known as Heritage Care), for 6 years.

Claire, Head of Profession for Podiatry, is an experienced healthcare leader with over two decades of clinical, academic and strategic expertise within NHS Lanarkshire. As Area Clinical Forum Chair and a Board non-executive as NHS Lanarkshire, Claire brings a deep commitment to collaborative leadership, evidence-based practice and continuous improvement in healthcare delivery.

Claire has a Professional Doctorate in Health and Social Care and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Glasgow Caledonian University and an External Examiner for the MSc (Pre-registration) Podiatry programme at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh.
