Helping Stroke Survivors to Rebuild Independence

Thanks to the generosity of local supporters, people recovering from stroke in Lanarkshire now have access to innovative rehabilitation technology that is helping them rebuild strength, regain confidence and recover their wellbeing after life-changing illness.
Funding from Lanarkshire Health Charity has supported the creation of Technologically Enhanced Rehabilitation Gyms at University Hospital Wishaw and Blantyre Life, giving stroke survivors access to specialist rehabilitation closer to home.
Using interactive technology and personalised digital feedback, patients can track their progress, stay motivated and take positive steps towards greater independence throughout recovery.
But the real impact goes far beyond technology.
This investment means more people across Lanarkshire can access the support they need to recover movement, restore confidence and return to the everyday moments that matter most: spending time with family, staying active and living independently for longer.
Working in partnership with NHS Lanarkshire and the University of Strathclyde, the project is also helping develop new approaches to rehabilitation that could improve care for future generations.
